This weekend we decided to hike in Yosemite National Park. Upon arrival we were offered an annual pass for $85. Knowing that a regular day pass cost $35 it seemed to be a wise investment. National Parks are beautiful and Yosemite is only a little over an hour drive anyway, so we’ll definitely come back.
Winter in Yosemite can be snowy and cold, though sunny and chilly days are not uncommon. This weekend it was somewhat chilly, but definitely not cold. Most of the park is covered in snow, but luckily there were some trails that weren’t so high up. Those were easily accessible.
As we were only able to take 2 suitcases per person with us, Tom didn’t bring his hiking shoes. So later during the weekend we bought him a new pair. There was so much to see in this park; we can’t wait to explore more of it.
On our way back we went to Smokehouse 41 and got ourselves some delicious BBQ brisket. Damn! That was so good. We sat outside pretty close to the smoker, so by the time we got back home, we needed to change clothes right away 😉

wat fantastisch om jullie avonturen zo te volgen! Zoals ik jullie ken, meteen erop uit. Natuurlijk zullen er momenten van heimwee zijn, kan ik me zo voorstellen, maar het nieuwe leven zal jullie steeds weer verleiden om in beweging te komen en mooie ervaringen op te doen.

Wow , fantastisch zeg! Ik heb yosemite paar keer in speelfilms en natuurdocus gezien. Moet schitterend zijn …. en de niet meegenomen hiking shoes en dan nieuwe moeten kopen….dat is weer typical tom& roy!

Tja, met twee koffers per persoon moet je helaas keuzes maken in wat je meeneemt 🙂 Gelukkig zijn wandelschoenen makkelijk gevonden.
